So how does building
with Hemp work?
Building with hempcrete opens the door to a world of sustainable possibilities. Harnessing the power of hemp fibers and lime, hempcrete is not just a building material; it's a statement of environmental stewardship. Its remarkable properties, from soundproofing to thermal insulation, make it a versatile choice for eco-conscious homeowners. By choosing hempcrete, you're not only creating a healthier living space for yourself and your loved ones but also contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.

How do we do it?
To start, our builders and carpenters will construct the framework of the home on a concrete slab or bearers and joists using timber, just like a traditional home. Once the frames are standing and ready to go, we erect formwork on either side of the timber frames, ready to be filled with our wet Hempcrete mixture. Then, we fill the formwork and pack it tightly before adding more formwork and continuing up the wall.

Our walls are dry to the touch within a couple of days, but do take up to three months to cure before being rendered or sealed. Over time, a hempcrete wall will continue to harden.
